Queens

It's unlikely that extra queens will be available for 2009, as we are in the process of expanding our business. Please email for availability.

Our bees are Italian mutts bred for temperment and production. Some hives are more hygenic than others, but at this point in time we are selecting for cold tolerance and honey production over mite resistance. We carefully monitor mite counts, and treat for mites and nosema when necessary. We have had no incidents of wax moth or small hive beetle, and no issues with foul brood. Our bees are not defensive, they are the perfect backyard or novice keeper's bee. All of our queens are from overwintered Maine hives.

Nucs

Nucleus hives may be available locally. We anticipate any nucs will be sold quickly, so if you see them advertised, you had better act fast. We will advertise any available wintered nucleus hives on this page and on the beesource forum.
